Serving your community is an integral component of leadership development. Leadership involves a demonstration of active participation and engagement in your community, and a desire to make a positive change. The Department of Student Activities sponsors five annual community service projects on/around the UConn Hartford campus. Examples of projects include: food/toy drives, HuskyTHON, Hands on Hartford, Riverfront Recapture, and Service and Volunteer fairs.
Previous Days of Service events include:
- A21 Walk – Walk Against Human Trafficking
- Food Drive for Hands on Hartford food pantry
- "Stuff a Cruiser" Toy Drive for the Boys and Girls Club of Hartford
- HuskyTHON (see HuskyTHON page)
- Campus-wide Service and Volunteer Fair with local non-profits and community based organizations
